Match To Decide Finalists For European Competition

Bayer Leverkusen and AS Roma to Face Off in Second-Leg Clash

Match to Decide Finalists for European Competition

Bayer Leverkusen and AS Roma will resume their battle for a place in the final of the Europa League on Thursday, August 5, 2021. The second leg of the semi-final will commence at 3 pm at the BayArena in Leverkusen, Germany.

Bayer Leverkusen, currently third in the Bundesliga standings, enters the match with a 3-1 advantage from the first leg. They will be looking to secure their spot in the final for the first time since 2008, when they lost to Zenit Saint Petersburg.

AS Roma, on the other hand, will need to produce a significant comeback if they wish to advance. The Italian side currently sits fifth in Serie A and will be hoping to make up for their disappointing domestic campaign by winning their first major European trophy since 1961.

The match is expected to be closely contested, with both teams having proven their quality throughout the competition. Bayer Leverkusen will be relying on the likes of Leon Bailey, Kevin Volland, and Kai Havertz to provide the attacking threat, while AS Roma will look to Edin Dzeko, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Jordan Veretout to inspire their comeback bid.
