Rockies Stun D-backs With Ninth-Inning Rally at Coors Field

D-backs Pen Blows Four-Run Lead

Arizona Loses Fourth Straight as Road Woes Continue

The Rockies, now 52-46 this season, won their third straight game over the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have lost four straight games. Coming into the game, the Rockies were 27-23 at home, and the D-backs were 24-28 on the road.

The D-backs jumped out to a 4-0 lead with a run in the second inning and three more runs in the fourth inning. The Rockies scored their first run on an RBI double by Ryan McMahon in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The D-backs pushed their lead back to three runs with an RBI single by Josh Rojas in the sixth inning. The Rockies answered with a run of their own in the seventh inning on an RBI single by C.J. Cron, making the score 5-3.

The Rockies finally broke through against the D-backs bullpen in the ninth inning. Yonathan Daza singled to lead off the inning, and Sam Hilliard worked a walk to put two runners on. After Brendan Rodgers grounded into a fielder's choice, putting runners at the corners with one out, McMahon singled to score Daza and cut the deficit to 5-4.

Cron then came to the plate and delivered a two-run home run to give the Rockies a 6-5 lead. The D-backs couldn't mount a rally in the ninth, and the Rockies held on for the victory.

The win went to Rockies reliever Justin Lawrence (4-2), who pitched a scoreless eighth inning. The loss went to D-backs reliever Ian Kennedy (0-4), who allowed three runs in the ninth inning.

The Rockies will face the D-backs again on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field.
